A new species of geckos were found! The leaf-tailed geckos were found at Cape Mellvile's rain forest. This gecko is much different from its relatives. The leaf-tailed gecko has much larger legs for scrambling around rocks. Also it has larger and bolder eyes that help with seeing around in the darkness. These exquisite geckos are about 8 inches in length. During the day these geckos hide amoung rocks and at night they emerge from hiding to hunt in trees and rocks. An expert on reptiles and frogs, Conrad Hoskin, was hiking through the rainforest at night. He spotted the reflection of the geckos eyes.
